FAQ

Within manage content, next to ‘playlist’, click on the plus drop down button  ()  click on ‘Template Library’ and click on the template you want to have for your playlist. (Note: Any template with a yellow zone is used for HDMI pass through, any HDMI capable media can play in this zone.)

On the fmRemote click on the back/home button near the middle right of the fmRemote.

Click on ‘Manage TV’ then click the down arrow button () on the device you want to adjust. Then click the bubble next to ‘play around the clock’ then click save.

Plug in the fmStick to your TV and make sure the power is on and the usb remote receiver is plugged into the end of it. Bring the fmRemote as close as you can to the fmStick and pull out the batteries on the remote for 5 seconds, then put them back in. The fmRemote will now be paired to the correct fmStick.

At the top left of the screen click on the FriendMedia Icon () and you will return to the main dashboard home page.

Once in the dashboard click on your profile(your login name on top right of dashboard) and click on ‘Users’ from drop down menu. Click on the plus button() and fill in the corresponding name, email address and determine either Admin(Can add more users) or Manager(Can perform all operations except add new users) and click ‘Save’.

Once in the dashboard click on your profile(your login name on top right of dashboard) and click on ‘Business’ from drop down menu. Here you can update your email address.

Once in the dashboard click on your profile(your login name on top right of dashboard) and click on ‘Brand’ from drop down menu. Hover your cursor over the brand you would like to remove and click on the Delete button ().

Once in the dashboard click on your profile(your login name on top right of dashboard) and click on ‘Brand’ from drop down menu. Once here you will be able to search manually by typing in the brand or scrolling through the list of brands. Click on the brand that you want then click ‘Confirm’ and the brand will be visible in the brand carousel on fmTABs. If you cannot find the brand you are looking for please reach out to Support@friendmedia.com and we will work with you and your representative to add the most updated information.

Look under the playlist the Instagram feed is in and click the drop down arrow () on the right, then click onto ‘Settings’ on the right side of your Instagram, you will have an option to adjust the number of posts under ‘Show Latest __ Posts’, the number can be changed from 1 to 10, if you see outdated content it may be better to choose 1 or 2, and show the most recent 1 or 2 instagram posts. Click save when done.

To create a new template layout you can click on the plus drop down button () button to the right of ‘Program’. Then click the corresponding layout that correlates with your TV set up(Most TV’s are normally mounted as landscape). Click ‘Customized landscape’. ‘Z1’ is a pre-created zone that you can place content inside of. This ‘Z1’ can be stretched and manipulated by moving the cursor to one of the leading edges clicking on it and dragging it. To Create another zone that you want to place content in click on the ‘’ at the top middle of the screen, you can manipulate the size of this one the same way as ‘Z1’` . You can change the background color by clicking on the black bar below background color.

It is possible your browser does not support the video type. We recommend using Google Chrome. Open a different browser and login to your dashboard, if the video is still not viewable after trying on Google Chrome email Support@FriendMedia.com for more help.

 

Click on ‘Manage Content’ then click on ‘Library’ search for the video you would like to add to your playlist. Click on the dropdown arrow () and then click the play button in the middle of the video screen.

Click on ‘Manage TV’ then click the down arrow button () on the device you want to adjust. Then click ‘Schedule’ next to the playlist you would like to change the dates for.

When adding a playlist onto your device you can click ‘Schedule’ and then change the date you want it scheduled, the time you want to schedule it, and also the specific days you want it to play. Click ‘Save’ and it will be scheduled.

Click anywhere on playlist to Highlight with blue outline. Then click on the preview button () on the top right. This will open a preview window in which you can click on the next button () in the bottom right corner of the content to skip to the next piece of content.

To delete content from the playlist, click on the playlist you would like to edit. Then click the edit button (). Click the Delete button () next to the corresponding piece of content and it will be removed from the playlist. Click ‘Done’ and the changes made will be saved.

After content is created within Keynote at the top left of the screen click ‘File’ scroll down and click onto ‘Export to’ scroll down and click ‘Images’ then click drop down menu to save in dropbox location, and click ‘Next’ then it will be able to download into our dashboard using ‘How do I upload my own images’.

To add weather click ‘Content’ then click plus drop down button () then click the weather icon () and enter your zip code.

To add Google slide click ‘Content’ then click plus dropdown button () from the dropdown menu click () then open a new tab and access your google slide show you would like to play on your screen. Click ‘File’ then click ‘Publish to the web’ then click the checkbox for ‘Start slideshow as soon as the player loads’ and click the checkbox for ‘Restart the slideshow after the last slide’ you can also adjust the time spent on each slide. Click ‘Publish’ once done and then copy the url that is given and paste it into the dashboard where it says ‘Enter a URL’ then click done.

URL content addition allows you to utilize google slides. Presentations can be published to the web and shown on your screen. If you make changes to the slide on google it will automatically update the slide on your screen.

You will need to download the file to your computer.  Once you have the file downloaded Log into your FM Dashboard click ‘Manage Content’ then click the plus drop down button ()  and from the drop down select the play icon (). Next Click the add content button ()  and you can upload through your computer files or through dropbox.

To add your own videos click on ‘Content’ then click the plus drop down button () from the drop down menu then click the play icon (). Next click on add content button () to search your computer and dropbox and open the video you want in your dashboard.

To add your own images click on ‘Content’ then click the plus drop down button () from the drop down menu then click picture frame icon (). Next click on add content button () and search through your computer files or dropbox for the file you want to add and either double click on it, click once and then click ‘Open’, or click on it and drag it into the add content icon ().

To add click on ‘Content’ then click plus dropdown menu button () from the drop down menu then click Vimeo icon ().Then open up www.Vimeo.com in another tab, once you find the video you would like to upload and copy the URL and paste it in the box and finally click on the video. (Hint: use videos with quality 720p or above)

To add YouTube videos click on ‘Manage Content’ then click on ‘Content’ then click plus drop down button () from the drop down menu then click the YouTube icon () Then open up www.YouTube.com in another tab, once you find the video you would like to upload, copy the URL and paste it in the box and then click on the video. (Tip: use videos with quality 720p or above)

To add Instagram click on ‘Manage Content’ then click on ‘Content’ then click plus drop down button () from the drop down menu then click instagram icon () then sign into your business account if you are not already and then click ‘Authorize’ and your instagram will appear under content.

To add Facebook click on ‘Manage Content’ then click on ‘Content’ then click the plus drop down button () from the drop down menu then click the Facebook icon() and type in your username and password to login. Open a new tab on your browser and go to www.Facebook.com and copy the entire URL, then go back to the dashboard and click inside the Facebook box and past the URL here.

To add Twitter click on ‘Manage Content’ then click on ‘Content’ then click the plus drop down button () from the drop down menu then click Twitter icon () type in your Twitter handle and click on the image that appears below where you typed.

Content is where your uploads will be saved and made available to add to a playlist of your choosing at anytime.

To search the library you must first click on ‘Manage Content’ then click on the ‘Library’ button, then click on search button () and type in what you would like to search for. You can also click on filter button () and filter search by clicking on ‘Company’ ‘Brand’ ‘Type’ or ‘Closed Captioned’.

The library is a collection of videos and images that have been collected from various manufacturers to help keep your content searches in one place.

If you want to delete playlists within the device, you can click on the edit button () and click the delete button () on the right hand side.

Click, Drag, Drop. You can click on the playlist you want to see on your device and drag it over the device you want it to play on, and drop the playlist into the device you want to see it on. Click ‘Save’ and it will then be in your playlist.

Touch anywhere on the fmTAB screen and then tap the pause button. Use two fingers to pinch the screen to zoom in and use two fingers spreading out to zoom out.

Touch anywhere on the fmTAB screen and then tap the pause button. Touch anywhere on the screen and tap the play button to resume viewing the content.

Touch anywhere on the fmTAB screen and then tap on the 9 boxes logo, then tap on the menu item you want to view the content in.

Touch anywhere on the fmTAB screen and then tap on the brand carousel logo(second logo from the right) then swipe left or right to find the brand you want to view content on.

Touch anywhere on the fmTAB screen and then tap on the envelope logo to the bottom right. You can now type in your email address that you would like to have video content sent to and click send.

The activation codes are available within the dashboard. While logged in to your account you can click on the name of your business on the top right of the screen. A drop down menu will appear, click on “Business” at the bottom of the page is where you will be able to see all the activation codes.

When getting started the fmTAB may need to be plugged in. Once it has a charge locate the power button on the top right of the fmTAB and hold down for 7 seconds to turn on the fmTAB. Click on ‘Connect’ and find your wifi network and click on it. Input your password and then click ‘Connect’ on the keyboard. Next click into the area that allows for you to type and enter the 6 digit activation code provided in the original shipping email. (note: this can also be found using the ‘where do I find my Activation Codes?’ help question) Once the code has been entered click on activate. And you are now activated!

Click anywhere on the fmTAB, click on the settings button (Gear icon on bottom right of screen) and enter the password [friendmedia]. Next, choose connect your WiFi and find your network and enter your network password. It will show “Connected” once you have successfully connected to your WiFi network. This may take a few minutes depending on the speed of internet. If the fmTAB does not connect in 10 minutes please reach out to support@friendmedia.com

Touch anywhere on the screen of the fmTAB and the name will appear on the bottom middle of the screen.

Click anywhere on the fmTAB and then click the (gear icon) the password to enter settings is [friendmedia]. The mac address will be visible labeled under SN. The last 4 digits are all that is needed to look up. Or within the dashboard click ‘Manage TV’ then click on the ‘edit’ button () and the code is directly below the name of the device.

When in dashboard click on ‘Manage TV’ then, on the device you would like to change the name of, click on the edit button () then click on the name of the device and edit it. Once finished editing click ‘Done’

Use fmRemote and select settings button(3 Horizontal lines) and use the arrow keys to navigate down to ‘About’ and click ‘OK’. Here you can match the screen name to what is shown within the dashboard. the Mac Address which can be found by clicking on ‘Manage TV’, then click on the the name of the device in question, click the edit button() and view the 12 digit code directly under the name of the device these two codes will match if they are connected.

In dashboard under ‘Manage TV’ locate the device that is experiencing the issue by name or mac address(See how to locate mac address). Click on the edit button (). Click on output size and adjust until the words are no longer cut off. (usually 95 will do the trick)

On the fmRemote click ‘OK’ use the arrow keys to navigate to ‘Settings’ use the arrow keys to navigate to about and click ‘OK’ Here you will see the 12 digit Mac Address. Or within the dashboard click ‘Manage TV’ then click on the edit button () and the 12 digit code is directly below the name of the device.

With the fmRemote click ‘OK’ then use the right arrow key to navigate to settings and click ‘OK’ on the fmRemote. Use the down arrow key to navigate to internet click ‘OK’ use the right arrow key to navigate to the networks and use the down arrow key to navigate to your network and click ‘OK’ enter your password then click on ‘Connect’. To exit click the back arrow button. If you have already connected and need to forget password click on the network and then click forget and repeat the steps above.

To change screen orientation, use the fmRemote and click ‘OK’ use the arrow keys to navigate to settings and click ‘OK’ use the arrow keys to navigate to ‘screen orientation’ on the right Click ‘Ok’. Next use the arrow keys to move to ‘Landscape 0’ and click ‘OK’ exit the screen using the back arrow key(middle right of the fmRemote)

One way to find the mac address is to look on bottom of the fmCoolTV Unit, the mac address is the 12 digit code underneath the barcode. Or On the fmRemote click ‘OK’ use the arrow keys to navigate to ‘Settings’ use the arrow keys to navigate to about and click ‘OK’ Here you will see the 12 digit Mac Address. Or within the dashboard click ‘Manage TV’ then click on the edit button () and the 12 digit code is directly below the name of the device.

To turn off wifi, click ‘Set’ button to enter settings. Use the down arrow key to navigate to internet click ‘OK’ use the right arrow key to navigate to the networks and use the up arrow key to navigate to the toggle switch next to advanced WiFi and click ‘OK’. To exit click the back arrow button. Reboot your TV by switching the power button to off for 20 seconds and switching the power back on. If necessary, reboot fmTV by unplugging for 20 seconds and then plugging back in.

To connect to WIFI, press “Set” on your fmRemote while pointing at the media player. Navigate to the “Internet” tab on your TV using the arrow keys and press “OK” on your remote. Find your WiFi network ID and enter the password. It will show “Connected” if you have successfully connected to your WiFi network. Press the back arrow button to exit the settings.

To reconnect the fmTV to wifi you can unplug the device for 20 seconds and plug it back in, or turn it off using the switch on the back for 20 seconds and then turn it back on.
